Challenge:

In 2018, Ashley for the Arts faced the challenge of expanding its community event to accommodate a rapidly growing attendance of over 70,000 people. The event, held annually at the 54-acre Memorial Park in Arcadia, WI, had started as an initiative by community leaders to promote the arts and bring together families for an affordable entertainment experience. With its success, the event sought to further enrich its lineup with national acts and raise funds for local charities.

Solution:

Having started as a local event featuring regional entertainment, Ashley for the Arts turned to Romeo Entertainment Group (REG) in 2011 to secure national acts that would enhance the diversity of the event's offerings. REG's role was to curate an eclectic family-friendly lineup encompassing genres like country, rock, classic rock, and pop. The goal was to maintain affordability for families by charging a mere $10 for admission to all three days of the event. With over 100 art and craft vendors, live performances, a 5k run, art and music lessons, car shows, food vendors, and more, REG's involvement aimed to elevate the event's entertainment value and its contributions to local charities.

Results: REG's collaboration with Ashley for the Arts brought impressive results. In 2018, Rascal Flatts headlined the event, drawing more than 50,000 attendees on that day alone. Notably, the event's growth extended beyond headline acts, as it hosted country duo Dan + Shay and other national-level performers like ZZ Ward, Rick Springfield, Daughtry, Chris Janson, Carly Pearce, and Andy Grammer. The event's record-breaking success was underlined by the fact that all proceeds, amounting to a remarkable $535,000, were donated to charitable organizations.

Conclusion:

The partnership between Ashley for the Arts and REG showcases the potential of leveraging entertainment to transform a community event into a multi-dimensional experience. The collaboration not only brought diverse music genres to the event but also enhanced its attractions and charitable impact. With a commitment to promoting the arts and giving back to the community, Ashley for the Arts continues to grow and thrive as an example of successful event evolution.
